Sedimentation Summit

The Kansas Water Office is hosting a Reservoir Sedimentation Summit at the K-State Alumni Center in Manhattan, Kansas, on June 16-17. The summit will have presentations, breakout sessions, and field experiences that will cover a variety of topics, including the Tuttle Creek Lake Water Injection Dredging Demonstration; state, national, and international reservoir sediment management; watershed restoration and the impact on sedimentation; sediment management in upstream channels; and downstream channel consequences of sediment trapping and sediment releases. The event is planned to occur concurrent with the summer dredging session (pending final schedule) of the Tuttle Creek Lake Water Injection Dredging Demonstration currently being completed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the Kansas Water Office, and there will be an opportunity to tour the dredge and see it in operation on Tuttle Creek Lake.

There are a limited number of rooms being held until May 18 in a room block at the Holiday Inn Manhattan at the Campus (Group Code: KWO) which is across the street from the K-State Alumni Center.
